Let’s look at the fundamental meaning of “sustain-ability”
sustain
/səˈsteɪn/
verb
- strengthen or support physically or mentally.
- undergo or suffer (something unpleasant, especially an injury).
ability
/əˈbɪlɪti/
noun
- possession of the means or skill to do something.
- talent, skill, or proficiency in a particular area.
When we utter “sustain-ability”, feeling good of becoming part of the global movement promoting sustainability living, let’s ask ourselves, “how much have I done other than clicking ‘like’ buttons”? Our mother earth is suffering and we certainly possess the talent, skill and proficiency in saving her.
54 years slipped away since the first EARTH DAY held on 22nd April, 1970. Climate change, waste disposal issues, environmental pollution, freshwater depletion, world food problem and many more are still our primary topics. This simply indicates that we need to act now and create real impacts!
